Yeah, there's a reason why I have a whole slew of muses of various sorts (people I know, people I've seen once on the street, people who caught my eye at conferences, people in magazines, etc.), and I often have photos or sketches of them for individual characters. Otherwise, there's no way I could see them in my mind's eye. I think this may be why I've never felt your stories lack for descriptive detail, because it's not like I could visualize the characters any better than I already do if I had more detail!
I agree with you about movements and actions; I find I am very attuned to where my body is in space, both locally and largely, and so I find myself describing my characters in terms of their body actions and their locations. (I often feel like I might have better luck with plays or screen plays, rather than written stories)
